When you walk in to a Seasons Art Class all of the paints, paper and brushes are all laid out in readiness so you won’t need to bring anything with you, it is all included in the course.
The lesson starts with a comprehensive and detailed demonstration by the Tutor, giving you the tools to help create your weekly masterpiece. To see the brushwork up close there is an overhead webcam focused on the painting in progress which is beamed up to a very large TV for easy viewing.
Students then have the choice to follow the lesson with step-by-step instructions or to choose from additional pictures to work from. The ethos is very much guidelines not rules.
Unusually, for an art class it is 3 hours long giving time to work towards finishing paintings in the same session. During this time, the tutor is constantly on hand to offer individual tuition.
On the penultimate week, there is the opportunity to frame some of your artwork. On the final week we hold an art exhibition for all students. There is always an uplifting atmosphere to the event and is a chance to show off your artwork to friends and family.
Beyond the art, the venue is a calm and glorious space in which to paint in and the atmosphere created is truly friendly and relaxed. If that wasn’t enough there is an endless supply of tea, coffee and biscuits laid on.
The 14 week courses run three times per year starting at the beginning of January, May and September.
There are three weekly classes:
Thu: 10.00 – 13.00
Fri: 10.00 – 13.00 / 14.00 – 17.00
